Usually, in our clinic we do the best we can to save teeth, rather than extract them. However, wisdom teeth could be an exception to this rule, especially when they cause problems.

Other times, there is no space for them in the dental arch and they can cause orthodontic problem since they start growing and pressuring the adjacent teeth. If they are pointed to the adjacent tooth, they can also cause a caries to develop. Furthermore, often they form periodontal pockets, which get inflamed and can cause pain from time to time.
