During their lives, people go through several types of dentition – primary (baby), mixed, and permanent. Primary or baby teeth begin to erupt around 6 months of age. Usually, all of them have appeared in the mouth by the age of 3. From ages 3 to 6, children have a stable period of primary dentition. At around 6 years old, permanent teeth begin to erupt, and the dentition becomes mixed.
